Learning about the culture is another important part of travel and sightseeing. What customs should visitors be aware of when visiting a home in your country? What should and shouldn’t people do? What are the expected customs and behaviors in this situation?
Idioms
“put your best foot forward” = give a good impression
“You can put your best foot forward and impress the people of that country by learning about the culture and speaking their language.”
“jump at the chance” = do some form of service in return for something in return
“I wanted my dad to pay for the movie tickets, so I jumped at the chance to do some extra work to pay for them.”
